Vicente Fernandez
In late 1980, Fernandez had been famous for over 21
years but had never won an important award and was starting
to think that he must die before being recognized. His patience was
rewarded in 1990 when he released the album and Vicente Fernandez
classic José Alfredo Jiménez. The album earned him Billboard and America
Univision Music Award for Regional Mexican Male Artist of the Year,
won five times from 1990 to 1993.
In 2002, Fernandez was recognized by the Latin Recording Academy
Person of the Year. The same year held its thirty-fifth anniversary
in the entertainment industry, a career that has sold more
than 50 million records. Has 51 albums listed in the Association of
Recording Industry of America (RIAA) Record of gold, platinum and
multi-platinum records. For someone who was told
would be better than selling peanuts to sing professionally
Fernandez has made a notable impact on music of his homeland.
It also has a star with her name placed on the Walk of Fame

Vicente Fernández Gómez (* n February 17, 1940, Huentitán el Alto,
Guadalajara, Jalisco) is a Mexican singer and actor.
Married to Maria del Refugio Abarca Villaseñor, has four children:
Vicente, Gerardo, Alejandro and Alejandra. Her youngest son Alejandro Fernandez
has been strongly supported with resources and influence of his father and
is today one of the best singers positioned in the middle of
show.
